Tile selection is probably going to have the biggest impact on your bathroom. Your head is going to be spinning with all the options. Should you go with larger or small tile? Solid colors or marble effect? What type of stone? Below we will discuss some of the options we think are best.
Large & Neutral
This is the most cost effective way to go but not necessarily a bad choice. Most bathrooms are light and neutral colored to properly reflect light while you put on make-up or try on clothes. Although installers charge by the square footage and not by tile, large tile mean fewer steps to complete. This should give you less chance of having a few tile offset. For grout, we would recommend going with a color in the same hue but lighter.
Wood Effect
Of course, real wood would likely have issues with the amount of moisture that bathrooms tend to make. Wood effect tile can give you a rustic look to match the rest of your home or to make your bathroom feel more relaxing. Kind of like a sauna. Again, you will be dealing with larger tile sizes but wood effect tile might be harder to find in your area.
Mosaic
Be wary, too much Mosaic becomes overpowering and can make you feel like you are drowning in your bathroom. Well-placed Mosaic is amazing! The best part is that the rest of the walls can simply be inexpensive, white subway tile. White will also work for your grout color. Hardest part of this choice is where it goes and which pattern to choose!
These three styles are great options if your budget needs to make room for other expenses. Tile is a key part of every remodel and should be given enough time to make a sure decision. Remember, you are going to have to look at it everyday!
