We took notice of two particular bathroom styles that we saw emerging more and more often. This seemed like the perfect time to show-and-tell a bit about the wonderful world of double vanities and powder rooms.
Double Vanities
For a couple or the whole family in a shared master bathroom, a double vanity could be a lifesaver! No longer would you have to wait on someone else to finish their hair or brush their teeth while you need to do the same. Most double vanities have a focus on storage as well to give the owners room to fit everyone’s amenities.
These vanities have a variety of styles available to them as well including a pair single-sink, tabletop vanities or a countertop with two sinks. Some designs will put the mirror-wall between the two for added privacy. Your possibilities are endless so consider your space and get as many opinions as you can.
Powder Rooms
Alternatively called the “half-bathroom”, these are great for having a restroom near the main living areas of your home or to complete a guest room. Everything about a powder room screams ‘extra’ and ‘essential’ so you only need to keep it at a bare minimum of amenities and features. A toilet and a faucet placed in the right area of a home can go a long way!
The other fun feature of a powder is, because of their small size, you can splurge on decorating and save money since you have less area to cover. A single light fixture will cover the entire room and an expensive tile set will only have so much square footage to meet once you consider the space the vanity and toilet will take up. Since there is no shower, you will never have to deal with damage from condensation but be sure to consider ventilating the room somehow to get rid of odors!
